About The Critical Eye

TCE

The Critical Eye is a blog chock full o’ blurbs about movies, music, graphic novels and other good stuff. Some blurbs are lengthier than others, depending on time and inspiration, but we will always try to be as candid as possible.

TCE will be updated as frequently as possible, as we ย enjoy (and sometimes agonize over!) new things, and things anew.

  1. Hey there Critical Eye. I do have a suggestion for you. The background is kind of distracting because the words are right on top of it. Otherwise, this background is really nice. I hope I’m not overstepping my bounds or anything. I’m no expert designer or blogger. I’m just giving you my opinion as a reader.

By the way, I saw this really nice theme (forgot it’s name), but I think it would suit your blog at lot. It was one of those magazine ones. It would perfect since you do “blurbs” on movies and what not.

    • I was concerned about the background as well. It doesn’t bother me, but neither did the previous one, which was red with white writing over it, so what do I know? ๐Ÿ˜›

I had looked at those newspaper ones initially. However, the ones that I like all have a cost associated to them, and I’m not ready to go that route. But I will look at the themes again and consider other options.

My principal focus right now is improving the content by backtracking the blurbs to June 2009, when I first started writing them, followed by adding synposes and posters for each of them. It’s going to be a lengthy process…

So, for now, aesthetically-speaking, I will focus on changing the background from time to time. It’ll be nice to have a variable look and it’ll give people a rest from any look that they find boring/annoying/eye-gouging ๐Ÿ™‚

And, the moment that there’s a lull, I will look at redesigning the page completely – should I find a theme that I find pleasing, suits my needs and also embodies the spirit of The Critical Eye.

Thanks for your feedback, BB. Keep ’em coming ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Wow! Thanks a lot for the nom, Jamie! While I don’t know that I’m versatile enough to deserve it, I really appreciate the vote of confidence. It’s much appreciated. :):):)
