The Losers

Synopsis: An explosive action tale of betrayal and revenge, The Losers centers around an elite Special Forces unit sent to the Bolivian jungle on a search-and-destroy mission. But the team – Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar – soon find that they have become the target of a deadly double cross instigated by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Making good use of the fact that they’re now presumed dead, the group goes deep undercover in a dangerous plot to clear their names and even the score with Max

The Losers 7.0

While this is based on a comic book series, you know what this film made me think of? One of the better ‘80s action films, but with a better production and a more solid cast.

But minus all the verve.

It’s solid through and through, but it left me in neutral the whole time. The humour was apparent, but only made me smile; the performances were serviceable, unmemorable; the action sequences were all well-done but they left me unimpressed; the music was decent but could have been better-suited, …etc.

If you want a middle-of-the-road, yet fully enjoyable, action, you’re well-served here – this is a solid effort on all counts. But maybe it would stir the blood of someone other than myself; I may not have been the proper audience.

It sure makes me want to watch ‘The Expendables’, for some reason, now. And if I had access to it, I would; I’ve been meaning to give it a try anyway.
