I had been told for so many years that this was one to see. Um… not quite.

Firstly, it’s not a good documentary, in that it feels more like a random set of bits than anything else. You don’t really learn much either about the person or the legend. It’s pretty vacuous.

Plus which, the subject is a perfectly sad shlep (but a nice, relatively likeable one!) – regardless of the fact that he’s idolized by all too many people
