Synopsis: Jason is back, hockey mask and all. And he’s up to his old maniacal tricks in Friday The 13th Part V – A New Beginning. This time he seems to have set his sights on the young patients at a secluded halfway house. And more than a few of his teen targets end up in half, in quarters… you name it, Jason does it.
This is the fifth scary installment in the Friday The 13th saga. If you liked the first four, and think you’re up to getting back on Jason’s bloody trail, you’ll love Friday The 13th Part V – A New Beginning.

Friday the 13th : A New Beginning 6.0
A new beginning? Seriously? Well… it’s the first new beginning of a franchise that, just like its iconic killer, won’t quit. Unlike the latest ‘new beginning’, the 2009 reboot, this one basically continues the mayhem some decade or so after the events of the last film.
…just when you thought it was over 😛
This is prototypical ’80s horror fare, for good or bad (depending on the viewer’s take on the genre). The only reason I gave it such a high rating, despite all the errors and clichés along the way is that they actually came up with a fresh story in this one; there’s a semblance of mystery being concocted.
But is it a good story? Does it make sense? Is it worth 90 mins of your time? Answer: ‘t’s Friday the 13th, for goodness’ sake! It is what it is. But at least someone tried – and I’ll give them points for that small glimmer of light in an otherwise creatively bleak, formulaic genre.
