Synopsis: Fanny Ardant and Gérard Depardieu star in a story of love, sex and deception. Upon discovering that her husband has cheated on her, Catherine (Ardant) hires a prostitute Marlène (Emmanuelle Béart) to pose as “Nathalie,” seduce her husband Bernard (Depardieu) and report back to her with the details of their encounters. While trying to understand her husband’s infidelity, Catherine becomes entranced with the relationship she develops with Marlène and a world that changes her forever.

The original that ‘Chloe’ is based on. A better film, in the end, but only because ‘Chloe’ has that terrible closing bit. But it has a very different tone and the story is developped differently. Not better, just different.
