Synopsis: Rob Reiner’s directorial debut has developed into a cult phenomenon. The film that invented the “rockumentary” has now outlasted most of the bands it mocked. Following the ill-fated American comeback tour of an aging heavy-metal group, this film has joined the ranks of the greatest comedies ever made.

Well, actually, I’d give this movie an 8.5. But I just couldn’t fend off the temptation to rate it just a little bit higher 😉
If you’ve seen a few music documentaries, if you’re familiar with the (sometimes ridiculous) world of metal bands and/or if you love satire, then this movie is rightly suited to you: it tells the tale of a late-70s, early-80s hard rock outfit at the tail end of their glory days – and the ensuing disintegration that follows.
It’s sometimes subtle, sometimes grotesque, but always funny and entertaining. And with a cast like this one (you can spend the movie picking out actors who would later make it big!) you simply can’t go wrong – unless you can’t bear the thought of looking at grown men in tight, colourful leather and spandex gear, that is 😛
