Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back 6.5

Wow… I thought this was Kevin Smith’s weakest movie back in the day – and it doesn’t hold up to repeat viewings (I mean, I must have seen this one only 4-5 times prior to this). Unfortunate, too, since Jay and Silent Bob are some of his mmost beloved characters. Maybe they were just better as side-characters instead of centre-pieces… confused

Anyway, if you’re into cheesy humour and contrived situations (i.e. standard Hollywood fare), this one’s for you. This is Smith’s ‘American Pie’, if you will. However, for those of you who like a bit of subtlety and a well-crafted story in their comedies, fuhgeddaboutit. He’s done much, much better.

Only two more Kevin Smith movies to go… (maybe next weekend! smile)
